I found a special love for birds while raising chickens and ducks. Pigeons however, I always overlooked. Never once did I think about a pigeon twice. Then, one day I saw pigeons being killed for leisure. I was so upset. I wanted to call the authorities and so I researched nonstop just to find out that this is technically legal in most places in America. It is heartbreaking. 

Pigeons are considered a nuisance  when it is not even their fault. European colonists purposely brought pigeons to America in the 1600s for several reasons. Over time these birds have been released and escaped. Now, we treat them like pests. These "pests" are just trying to survive the way we forced them to. 

We need to advocate for federal protection for pigeons so people can't harm them for leisure or for mitigation. If pigeons are federally protected we would be able to find more humane and regulated ways to manage their population rather than allowing them to legally be killed on purpose and possibly in inhumane ways.

I want to spread awareness about the beauty and wonders of pigeons. Pigeons deserve federal protection in America as well as worldwide. However, some countries already protect pigeons federally. This just shows it is possible. Some states and cities also protect pigeons. 

The best way to start advocating for pigeon protection is to start small. Getting pigeons protected in a city, county, and or at a state level, is the first stepping stone to making worldwide progress. That is why I am creating this business. I hope to raise more awareness with cool, cute clothes and items. So, let's make protecting pigeons a trend!
